Over the weekend, I had a great time at the African Dance Explosion event in DC. The event was packed with hailing guests supporting different dance groups. As a fan of Les Belles D’ Afrique I was thrilled with performances and competitiveness. All the dance teams performed well and they all represented Africa as a whole.
I was able to test one of my camera low-light capabilities. Shooting with my Nikon without any external flash, I was able to bump my ISO high enough to shoot the action. I was amazed with the pictures even though I had to dial in the exposure manually. The exposure compensation was set to about +5 and I was able to shoot around 1/125 sec to get the actions.

What powerful pics! I like the second one, it contains so much of the natural force of African people. Intersting to see that they use the old african tribal art peaces for modern dacne.
